Guidelines for Submitting Your Question
To help us understand and respond to your query accurately, please observe the following guidelines:
- Begin with the name of Allah and a greeting, such as السلام عليكم ورحمة اللّٰه وبركٰته
- State your question clearly, briefly and precisely. Please provide only the information necessary for us to understand the matter.
- If you have more than one question, number each question clearly.
- Please submit no more than one question at a time where the matter requires extensive research. In other cases, you may submit a maximum of two questions at a time.
- Please avoid questions that are deliberately provocative, contentious or designed to create doubts about Islam, or that could unnecessarily bring the integrity of our institution into question.
- Please avoid questions that have no meaningful benefit for your religious or worldly life, or that are unlikely to contribute positively to your understanding and practice of Islam.
- Please avoid questions that may unnecessarily cause division among Muslims or undermine social harmony and unity. Our aim is to provide beneficial Islamic guidance while promoting mutual respect and social cohesion.
- Please allow 7–10 days for a response. We receive a large number of enquiries and are often engaged with other educational, advisory and community responsibilities. If your matter is urgent and you require an immediate response, we recommend that you seek assistance from another qualified scholar or institution.
- If you have not received a response within 7–10 days, please send us a polite email reminder. We will endeavour to respond as soon as reasonably possible.
Important
Please ensure that your question contains sufficient and accurate information. In matters relating to Nikah, Talaq, Khulaʿ, inheritance or other sensitive Islamic legal matters, incomplete or inaccurate information may affect the ruling. We may therefore request further details or clarification before providing an answer.
Important Notice – Talaq-Related Fatwa
Please note: We will not commence consideration of any Talaq-related Fatwa until:
- A full written statement containing all relevant facts and circumstances has been provided; and
- The initial fee of £50 has been paid.
This requirement is necessary because matters relating to Talaq can be highly sensitive and legally significant in Islamic law. A complete and accurate account of the circumstances is therefore essential before the matter can be properly assessed.
Please do not submit a Talaq-related query without first providing the required written statement and payment.
