Some guidelines before submitting your quiries

Seek guidance from scholars recognised for their knowledge, integrity and qualifications to issue Fatwas.  See “OUR SCHOLARS” page.

Ensure all information is truthful, complete and relevant, as omissions may affect the Islamic ruling.

Approach your enquiry with the genuine intention of following Islamic guidance, rather than seeking a ruling that simply suits your preference.

Do not repeatedly submit the same question where a Fatwa has already been provided, unless circumstances have changed or further clarification is required.

Where your enquiry involves marriage, divorce, menstruation or other time-sensitive matters, provide accurate dates and a clear sequence of events.

For enquiries involving Talaq, oaths, promises or written declarations, provide the exact words used rather than simply describing their general meaning.

If you have previously consulted another scholar or received a Fatwa on the same matter, please disclose this and provide a copy where possible.

Where relevant, attach marriage certificates, divorce documents, written communications or other supporting evidence to assist in assessing your enquiry.

For free enquiries, please submit one main question accompanied by no more than one or two closely related sub-questions. This helps us address your enquiry clearly and efficiently.

Avoid combining several unrelated questions or different Islamic issues in one submission. Enquiries containing three or more distinct questions, or requiring detailed research, may fall under our paid Fatwa service.

Communicate respectfully with the Mufti and avoid argumentative or confrontational language.

You may respectfully request clarification or supporting evidence, but avoid turning the enquiry into an unnecessary debate.

Give the Mufti reasonable time to examine your enquiry and provide a considered response.

Allow 2–5 working days for free enquiries. Paid enquiries are prioritised and answered within a few hours of payment.

Where scholarly opinions differ, give due consideration to the knowledge, qualifications and reliability of the scholars rather than simply choosing the easiest opinion.

Do not selectively present information or omit circumstances that may appear unfavourable. Even seemingly minor details can affect the ruling.

If the Mufti requests further information, provide a clear and prompt response to avoid unnecessary delays.

A Fatwa is based on the information provided and the circumstances explained. It does not automatically constitute a legal judgement or replace professional legal advice.

If relevant circumstances change while your enquiry is being considered, notify us promptly, as this may affect the ruling.

Follow-up questions should relate directly to your original enquiry. Introducing additional or unrelated matters may require a separate enquiry and may be subject to a fee.

One main question with up to two closely related sub-questions may qualify for a free response, subject to its complexity. Enquiries involving three or four separate questions, extensive explanations or detailed research will generally be categorised as paid enquiries.
